About this painting: Wild messy goopy warn and scarred. A heart that has lived. A life in the eye of the storm. Damaged. Recovered. Still beating. Bold with experience. Confident with experience. I am covered with scars. In my youth, I liked to drive fast and smash into things. Once, I rolled my car going about 60 miles an hour. I have had several plastic surgeries to fix the scarring on my face. But I have never seen my scars as foreign or as ugly. I see them as markers. Like badges. Proving that I am a survivor. Convincing myself I am strong. I like flawed things. I like stories that show. I like the entirety of life. Not just the easy parts. This one is for my fellow survivors. This piece is part of the Six Colors series. I used just six colors of paint to create a unique and moving suite of 20 original paintings. You can see them all here. These pieces look great together in groupings!
