About this painting: I love this flower. Uprooted. Suspended. Her roots captivate me. The title to me refers to the whole system of life. This plant symbolizes that craziness. Roots creeping underground blindly seeking nutrients and moisture. Leaves, stems, petals, stamen, all sorts of strangeness. Changing things I do not understand into the air I breathe (which I also do not fully understand.) Beauty that confounds. One big unknowable miracle, really.
