About this painting: All living things bleed. Sap, blood, gasses, pus. We all have soft parts somewhere. And mortality is the gift of knowing those soft parts. Knowing our limits and thus knowing our gifts. There is no life without the possibility of death. Moments matter because they are finite. Beauty works the same way. Our blood, our vulnerabilities are the prompters that remind us to give thanks. To savor what we have.
