About this painting: Mid-life crisis.  Facing the limits no living thing has ever managed to shake off.  The limits of a single irreversible youth.  And the limits of a certain and yet unforeseeable death.  Tied together with a very thin and fragile line of blood.  What a crazy experiment this all is!  Clearly God has a sense of humor.

I love this painting.  This thoughtful bird.  This organic line.  There is some nice subtle expressionist painting behind it all, too.  Yum.
